Development of highly efficient gas diffusion electrodes - study of the relationships between their internal structure and catalytic stability
Electrochemical reduction of carbon dioxide allows its conversion into fuels and industrial chemicals under normal conditions. For this purpose, very promising catalytic systems are gas-diffusion electrodes, which enable high reaction rates to be achieved. The proposed project will use additive and subtractive technology (3D printing and laser perforation) to manufacture gas diffusion electrodes in order to design stable catalytic systems. Basic relationships between the material and structural properties of gas diffusion electrodes and their stability of the catalytic effect at industrial current densities will be researched.
