Abstract:
This proposal follows the basic research in the acetylene chemistry with the goal to find out a new synthesis of long-chain oligoynes. The first intention is to prepare ?, ? -dialkali alkynides M-(C=C)x-M and monoprotected alkali alkynides R-(C=C)x-M,(where M= Li, K and R= R3Si, t-Bu, I, Br, x = 1 - 4). These monomer alkyne precursors will be used and tested for the chemical catalytic cross coupling and for the electrochemical synthetic strategy resulting in the protected oligoyne products. The polarcharacter of the monoprotected alkali alkynides R-(C=C)x-M, promising the solubility, the stability and a reasonable handling, could contribute for their electrolytical coupling into capped oligoynes. Longer oligoynes liberated from resulted couplingproducts will be spontaneously polymerized in the solution or subjected to the thermally treatment (by micro-wave or laser beam irradiation) in order to achieve nanotube or fullerenlike structures.
