Abstract:
The synthesis of a new type of composite catalysts combining outstanding catalytic properties of zeolites with easy transport of reactants and products in mesoporous molecular sieves is the main objective of the proposed project. These catalysts will be synthesized by tailored formation of mesopores in zeolite crystals, recrystallization of originally amorphous walls of mesoporous molecular sieves and assembling of colloid zeolite particles in mesoporous structure. Composite catalysts prepared by these methods will be tested in toluene alkylation with propylene, toluene disproportionation, xylene isomerization and trimethylbenzene disproportionation aimed at the increase in their catalytic activity. A combination of nitrogen and water adsorption, infrared spectroscopy, nuclear magnetic resonance, scanning and transmission electron microscopy will provide a detailed information on textural properties of these micro/mesoporous composite catalysts, the concentration, type and location of acidic ….
