The project is focused on applied research and development of deoxygenation catalyst suitable for conversion of renewable energy resources, namely triglycerides, to hydrocarbons. The project relies on knowledge and experience of triglycerides deoxygenation gathered in the past three years. Its goal is to bring the catalyst closer to industrial application as soon as possible. Owing to the necessity to develop advanced and efficient technologies for utilization of renewable resources, such as 2nd generation biofuels, it is a suitable time to develop the catalyst further to a stage that will make possible its commercial production. Thus, a consortium of two leading Czech research institution in the field of heterogeneous catalysis and the catalyst manufacturer was established.
