Abstract:
Due to the excellent properties zeolites attract a particular attention in both fundamental studies as well as in numerous industrial applications. Recently, a set of new zeolites as germanosilicates (ITH, ITR, IWR) was synthesized in igh-concentrated reaction media with germanium playing decisive role as structure director. Isomorphous introduction of different 3-valent elements is a powerful tool for tailoring the acidity of zeolites, significantly affecting their catalytic behavior. Systematic investigation of the relationship between the chemical composition and acidic properties of new structural types of zeolites in relation to their catalytic properties was not yet carried out. From this reason, this project focuses on the understanding of basic factors controlling the isomorphous substitution of 3-valent elements into the zeolite structures, characterization of acid sites formed, and their application in acid catalyzed reactions (alkylation of aromatic compounds with alcohols, acylation of aromatic compounds with acyl chlorides, Beckmann rearrangement of oximes).
