Professor Zdeněk Herman passed away
It is with great sorrow to share with you the sad news that on the 25th of February 2021 Prof. Zdeněk Herman, DrSc. passed away.
Prof. Herman worked at our Institute since 1957. His contribution in the field of molecular dynamics and reactions of ionic molecules has been highly appreciated by the international community and rewarded with numerous national and international awards. He won, for example, the Czech Head, the Alexander von Humboldt Award and the Erwin Schrödinger Award. He was one of the founders of the field of study of ion-molecule reactions in molecular beams in the world.
In addition to his scientific achievements friends and colleagues will remember him especially for his talented and kind personality. He was a great host and gentleman who loved and formed good company. He will be missed at the J. Heyrovský Institute.
