Organometallic Catalysis.
Year from
2012
Year to
2018
The goal of this project is the design and preparation of novel nanoporous materials for adsorption and catalytic applications.
Proposed research strategy is based on the multi-disciplinary and multi-level approach:
Level 1
The synthesis of novel materials followed by their detailed characterization (structural and properties) and modeling.
Level 2
Tailored material design, testing, and applications.
The principal goals of the project include:
- Synthesis of novel nanomaterials based on two-dimensional zeolites with modifiable architecture.
- Preparation of new structural types of molecular sieves.
- Understanding of the synthesis-structure-properties relationship for newly synthesized materials.
- Evaluation of the adsorption properties of the novel materials (with respect to conventional
zeolites and MOFs).
- Assessment of catalytic performance of the novel materials.
- Theoretical investigation of adsorption and catalytic properties of novel materials.
- Experimental and theoretical understanding of the interaction of biomolecules with well-defined
surfaces of 2D zeolites.
- General comparison of nanoporous materials (classical 3D zeolites, 2D zeolites, MOFs, and
mesoporous molecular sieves).
