International Workshop on Dynamics of Electrons in Atomic and Molecular Nanoclusters

The May 2025 International Workshop on Dynamics of Electrons in Atomic and Molecular Nanoclusters continues a series of meetings held at the Ettore Majorana Foundation and Centre for Scientific Culture in Erice (Sicily, Italy). The Centre, founded in 1963, hosts multiple topical schools “covering all branches of science.” The present Workshop will be conducted under the auspices of the Centre’s prestigious International School of Solid State Physics. Highly positive feedback from earlier workshops has resulted in an invitation from the Centre and from the School Director to organize the upcoming installment. The meeting will address cutting-edge and interdisciplinary research in nanoscience, with multiple topics of significance to the US DoD Science and Technology Strategy. The objective of this CSP proposal is to facilitate attendance by motivated graduate students and postdoctoral researchers. The highly collegial environment of the Centre and the Workshop will enable these junior scientists to benefit from meeting and interacting with the speakers, who are among the top experts in their areas. In-person engagement of researchers from adjacent backgrounds will enable them to collectively find solutions to scientific and technical challenges and to map out novel discovery pathways. Collaborations and exchanges will be germinated and promoted, enabling important progress in the field in general, and partnerships with the US research enterprise in particular.
