Compact optical hyperspectral camera FREYA II for CubeSat missions
The objective of this project, following the development of the functional sample (Gfunk) of the electronic part of the Hyperspectral Camera FREYA I (HyperSpec), is to advance towards the prototype (Gprot) of the Hyperspectral Camera FREYA II (HyperSpec FREYA II) and to create the functional sample (Gfunk) of its Optical System FREYA II (HyperSpec FREYA II Optics). This optical system will consist of a refractor-type lens equipped with a transmission grating. Demonstrating the functionality of these devices in orbit through the Space Rider mission and the Czech CubeSat mission VZLUSAT3 at the end of the project will provide critical validation in real-world space conditions. This will not only ensure the reliability and effectiveness of the hyperspectral imaging system but also significantly enhance confidence among potential customers and stakeholders. By showcasing the system's capabilities in monitoring and analyzing atmospheric phenomena under space conditions, these demonstrations will support its adoption for environmental monitoring, space weather analysis, and early warning systems. Moreover, successful deployment will enhance the Czech Republic's reputation in space technology innovation, contributing to the broader goals of Project NCK 2 and fostering international collaboration and commercial opportunities.
