PhD student position in biophysics

Job description:
We are seeking a highly motivated PhD student to join our research group at J. Heyrovský Institute of Physical Chemistry. The project focuses on developing advanced fluorescence methodologies to study lipid–protein interactions in live cells, with applications to neurodegenerative diseases.
The successful candidate will:
- Design and perform experiments using advanced fluorescence microscopy and spectroscopy techniques.
- Analyze and interpret biophysical and cell biology data.
- Collaborate with national and international research partners.
- Present results at group meetings, conferences, and in scientific publications.
Qualifications
- Master’s degree (or equivalent) in biophysics, biochemistry, molecular biology, physics, or a related field.
- Strong interest in method development.
- Practical experience in fluorescence microscopy, spectroscopy, or molecular/cell biology techniques is an advantage.
- Good communication skills in English (written and spoken).
- Motivation to work independently as well as in a collaborative team environment.
